I have a quick post today. This weekend I made a grown woman dress 😄
It’s Made for Mermaids Ruby, a bodycon spaghetti strap dress and top with a bunch of length variations .
With a faux button placket and split option.
2 piece back for some extra shaping.
😆 I’m just now noticing the v-neck!
Of course there’s a kids pattern too!
I made this pattern as is, no design modifications.
I did grade down in the hip area because it’s a form fitting dress. It wouldn’t have looked right with excess fabric on the hips. Inverted triangle shape here!
Oh and I didn’t hem…if I can get away without hemming, I won’t hem…That’s one of the things I love about knits!

Rib knit from Mily Mae, there is 1 more color way still available. This one is the Brown/Tan
Mine
- Size green graded down to indigo in the hips
- Scoop neck
- Dress length
I paired the dress with a duster from Walmart (purchased last year).
