I made this dress awhile ago and realize I didn’t share it 🤦🏾♀️.
It’s the Hepburn from Patterns for Pirates, a cute turtleneck style dress/top.
Now, there are a few things I usually stay away from like, turtlenecks and straight fitted dresses/skirts (due to being top heavy and lack of hips).
I needed this pattern for some reason and decided to take the chance. I knew was going to use a dark color and thought black would be perfect. I had pinned this look a few Falls ago which served as good inspiration to recreate, however I opted for a jacket.
Fabric
I used a light rib knit from Fashion Fabrics Club.
Changes
-
Graded down a size in the hips.
- Added 1/2″ to the sleeves
- Shorten the length, then while sewing the hem my sewing machine must of been hungry and ate a nice hole right in the front, my dress became even shorter. It’s all good, I get to show a little more thigh…lol.
I styled the dress with an Old Navy denim jacket, over the knee boots from Amazon and a long necklace.
