Leopard Cardigan

Hey Guys!

For the past couple of months I’ve been really feeling leopard print. I have always liked it but never had the guts to wear it. Since I’m trying to step out of my comfort zone with my clothing I decided to make give it a try; with a cardigan for Ellie and Mac’s pinspiration challenge.

I used Ellie and Mac’s Chapman Cardigan with modifications. I lengthen the front and back by 7 1/2″. Lengthen the neckband, adding almost 14″. I cut the neckband to size length after the bodice was sewn together. I thought it would be easier to make the neckband longer than I needed and cut the excess off. I also added some simple patch pockets.

This is the width of the pocket

Length

Placement from the side seam

Placement from front band seam

Placement from bottom band seam

The seam allowance was 1/2″

I purchased a 92% modal tencel/ 8% lycra from Fashion Fabrics at $5 a yard.

The Chapman Cardigan isn’t fashioned to be closed and is on the fitted side. You may want to size up if you want it a bit looser.

It comes with sizes XXS-3X and two sleeve lengths; long and sleeveless. Mines is an XL.

Another easy gratifying sew!

I love the simplicity of this cardigan.

Happy Creating!
