Little Girl’s Pajama Pants and Robe

Hey Guys,

I got around to sewing my girls some pjs. I decided to go with a woven pattern because the flannel was on sale and so was the pattern McCalls 6225. My girls adore the robes that I wear around the house and requested several times for me to make them some. The robe and the slim fitting pants is what drew me to this pattern.

Most pajama patterns are so boxy, so of course I expected the same. The pants are nicely roomy. The robe is a robe, it does have pockets! I do want to try making it in a fleece or minky next time to make it more luxurious.

I made a x small for my 2 year old (4T rtw) and small for my 4 year old (6 rtw). I shortened both robes as I thought they were too long.

I got the recommended yardage plus 5 inches for shrinkage, it shrunk about 3 inches and not width wise of the 44″. I should have gotten a little more as I usually do, just so tired of having a ton of leftovers and not enough to make something else with it. I know better next time. The pattern pieces did not fit on the fabric as is. Shortening the robe did help a bit but was still off, I just took away from the crotch area. I don’t know if it was me, the pattern or a combination. Always better to have too much than not enough.

The fit of the pattern is pretty good, as well as the directions.

I made another pair of pants for both girls and do plan on sewing up the shorts for summer.

I really enjoyed this pattern other than the yardage issue. Overall very impressed.

*3 year old didn’t want to take pics…lol. The lady bugs are her PJ’s.

Until next time, Happy Creating!
