DIY Boy’s Avengers Hoodie

Hey Guys!

I’ve been sewing like a mad woman lately…I guess it’s that time of year. I did get around to making my 8 year old son a little something. He loves hoodies, so I decided to make him The Be Rad Hoodie from Ellie and Mac for their Wacky Wednesday promo. He picked out his fabric from Joanns online, it was half off $8+ a yard. That’s a little more than I would like to pay for a yard of fabric but I was given a gift card and was going to use that however My awesome husband was already near Joanns and picked up the fabric and paid for it…told me to save my giftcard for another time 🙌🏾!

The Avengers fabric is a 4 way stretch, cotton spandex blend.

The hoodie was an extremely quick and no brainer sew.

It’s a pull over hoodie with optional pockets and thumb hole cuffs. Great for boys and girls.

We used the pockets and regular cuffs. I love pockets but these didn’t sit well with me and I wanted to take them out but my son liked them, so they stayed.

It comes with sizes 6 mo- 10 years.

I originally cut a size 7 bodice but it was a little too tight and ended up cutting the next size up an 8. If I make another for him again it will be a size 10.

It fits more like a shirt with a hood.

I do plan on making this again for my girls in the near future. I also plan on making matching pants for my son since I have a good bit of fabric leftover 😁.

Until next time, Happy Creating!
