Hey!!!
I wanted to share our Christmas pajamas before the New Year. We usually match in some type of combination, like last year my girls matched, myself and my oldest son matched, my husband and youngest son matched. These were pjs bought from the store. I’ve always wanted to make matching pjs but it was always something in the way, many times my laziness. This year I promised myself I was going to do it.
So… here they are!
I used all simplicity patterns I had in my stash. I used flannel from Joanns. I will probably never order fabric online from Joanns again. I ordered 16 yards at $2.99 yard (I think), during black friday. They returned my payment, then took half of it back out and shipped 8 yards. After awhile, I heard nothing of the other half of my order. I got in contact with someone. They told me they couldn’t fulfill my other half. Should I return it? Go with something else. Scrap the project? I decided to find a similar flannel at my Joanns. I did end up getting the last 2 yards of the same fabric and getting a couple yards of black flannel. I was determined to make this work.
I made Simplicity 1165 view D for myself. Cut a size 20.
My daughter’s Simplicity 1572 Shorts size 3t for both. The size 6 was too big and boxy for my 4 year old (she measured for the size 6). I added ruffles to the bottom of their shorts for cuteness.
For my husband and oldest son Simplicity 8269. Size XL for hubs and Large for son. They fit pretty good. I added inseam pockets to both.
I didn’t have a pattern for my youngest son. I just copied a pair of rtw pj pants he had and did color blocking with the plaid flannel. This was my first time color blocking… I like it!
All of the patterns were easy to cut and sew together.
I purchased shirts from Walmart. Using my circuit I designed an R (our last name) with each kid’s name under it. My husband and I got king and queen crowns.
This was a success! Can’t wait to come up with next year’s pajamas.
Until next time have a Happy and safe New Year!
Happy Creating!
